About SCORE
SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the US Small Business Administration (SBA).
SCORE has 364 chapters and 800 branch locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 12,400 volunteers nationwide. Local chapters provide free counseling and low-cost workshops in their communities. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate their time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964.
About Northwest Ohio SCORE and our Clients
For the 12 months ending in September of 2009, NW Ohio SCORE provided more than 1300 free, confidential counseling services to clients, either face-to-face or online. NW Ohio SCORE also helped to sponsor 14 free workshops, which were attended by more than 330 individuals. 60% of clients asked for assistance with starting up a new small business. 40% of clients were existing business owners requesting advice on topics ranging from cash flow management to obtaining financing, business planning, marketing, and more...
Northwest Ohio SCORE Chapter 80 was voted District Chapter of the Year in 2002 and 2004.

Email Counseling
SCORE's email counseling service, gives small business owners the opportunity to ask for expert advice anytime from the ranks of 1,200 email counselors. SCORE counseling is confidential and provided at no cost, with responses to emailed questions coming in 48 hours or less. SCORE email counselors assist more than 10,000 new entrepreneurs each month.
